Theme Today; Gone Tomorrow

Hi. I see you're new here. That's cool. To find out what this site is about, please read this page. You may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. It's free, you won't receive any spam from me (like, ever), but more importantly: you'll never miss a single word. Thanks for visiting!

Okay - I’m not sure exactly what happened, but I just logged in to my Dashboard and now my entire theme has been erased. I was editing the style sheet, but something corrupted, I guess, because even though the directory is still on the system, Wordpress refuses to see it.

I’ll have a tweak, but right now we’re back to this old-school style. Hang in there, kids.

Meantime, any advice greatly appreciated!

Hmmm… I don’t know. This is weird. The only similar problem I’ve ever got is wordpress switching back to the default theme without notification (the theme directory wasn’t deleted though…) I’d be interested to hear more.

As I said I was just adding something to the style sheet - specifically, editing the part where on my previous theme it defined the size of the day and the month used in the date output that was next to each post title. I clicked on submit, refreshed my site, and bang, it was toast. The site was still there, but the CSS was all screwed-up. And then when I went back in fix it (I had a back-up), Wordpress said it didn’t exist. It clearly does, though, as it’s quite visible on my WS_FTP. :)

I’ll have a play around. I’d forgotten, meantime, how unbelievably fast this default theme loads up!
